This recipe is a recent discovery, and it’s pure gold. At least for someone like me. I’m constantly on the go and always like having a protein shake to take with me. This is a great post workout shake! For a while I was sticking with the generic chocolate banana protein shake, and still do, but at least now I have an amazing alternative so that I don’t become sick of bananas. And although it contains spirulina, the tropical flavors hides the taste of the greens so well!
This recipe calls for:
1 cup coconut water
½ cup baby spinach
1 frozen banana
1 cup frozen mango
1 tsp spirulina
1tbsp chia seeds
If you don’t know what spirulina is, or haven’t tried it, you are missing out. Dried spirulina contains about 60% (51–71%) protein. It is a complete protein containing all essential amino acids.
